Parking at Rheinboulevard: choose a marked space

Parking at Rheinboulevard is easiest when you choose between marked Deutz street bays and the car parks around the LANXESS Arena before arriving. Do not rely on informal riverside parking: use a signed parking space or car park and check the local signs at the entrance. Mobypark currently has no bookable spaces within 3 km of Rheinboulevard, but drivers can check again later for future availability.

Street parking in Deutz near Rheinboulevard

Deutz has managed parking in central areas, including streets near major venues. Blue-band parking meters can offer a €5 ticket valid for 24 hours. Parking on these spaces is normally free on Sundays and public holidays, but the areas around the LANXESS Arena, Koelnmesse and Cologne Zoo can remain chargeable during the day.

Near the LANXESS Arena and other event areas, charges may apply on Sundays and public holidays from 09:00 until 18:00 or 23:00, depending on the location. The sign beside the bay takes priority. Blue-band machines accept coins and mobile payment; some red-band machines also accept girocards and credit cards.

Resident parking permits apply to eligible residents, not visitors. A permit-only bay or restricted section should therefore be avoided unless your vehicle meets the displayed conditions.

LANXESS Arena car parks for Rheinboulevard

The LANXESS Arena car parks are the main signed parking option for drivers approaching Rheinboulevard from the Deutz side. P1, P2, P3 and P4 are open around the clock, with a standard tariff of €2 per hour. The normal maximum vehicle height in these car parks is 1.90 metres; the Opladener Straße entrance to P3 is limited to 1.80 metres.

P5 is beside Kölnarena 2 on Gummersbacher Straße. Payment is available by coins or contactless card, including compatible smartphones.

Event-day parking by Rheinboulevard

Event days change both the price and the access arrangements around the LANXESS Arena. An arena tariff of €9 can be paid in advance at the car-park machines and remains valid until three hours after the event ends. Event tickets for P1 and P4 cost €15 and cover the period from three hours before to three hours after the event.

P3 is reserved on event days for eligible premium customers, people with a disabled parking permit and drivers with a pre-purchased VIP parking ticket. If you are attending an event, check the correct car park and ticket conditions before setting off rather than relying on the normal hourly tariff.

KölnArcaden parking for a longer Deutz stay

KölnArcaden offers another Deutz parking option around 900 metres from the LANXESS Arena, approximately a 13-minute walk away. It is open 24 hours and has a 2.10-metre height limit. A day ticket costs €4 when obtained within the first 60 minutes after entry, while the standard daily maximum is €10. Entry, payment and exit use number-plate recognition.

Parking penalties and access rules near Rheinboulevard

Parking without a valid ticket or exceeding the paid period can lead to a warning charge based on the length of the offence:

A vehicle can also be removed at the owner's expense, with towing costs potentially reaching €300. If a parking meter is defective, follow the instructions on the machine and display a valid parking disc where required. Riverside access and tolerated parking arrangements can change as the Rheinboulevard extension works progress, so never use an unmarked space simply because it is empty.

Arriving via Köln Messe/Deutz

When nearby parking is full or an event is taking place, Köln Messe/Deutz station provides a practical alternative to driving all the way to the river. The Rheinboulevard access is roughly a 500-metre walk from the Deutz station area, with tram and regional rail connections serving the surrounding venue district.
