Parking in Riem: choose by length of stay
Parking in Riem suits different types of stop. Blue-marked street spaces are intended for short visits, while the Riem Arcaden car park and nearby P+R facilities are better for shopping, appointments, commuting and event days. Mobypark currently has no bookable spaces in Riem, but drivers can check again for future availability.
Street parking rules in Riem
Messestadt Riem has a restricted parking zone because of high parking pressure. Park only in spaces marked with blue lines. From 09:00 to 18:00, these spaces allow parking for up to two hours with a correctly set parking disc. From 18:00 to 09:00, parking is free and has no time limit on the marked spaces.
Unmarked sections of road are not general parking spaces. The restricted stopping rule applies there around the clock, allowing only brief stopping for activities such as getting in or out, loading or unloading.
Riem Arcaden parking: car-park rates and opening hours
The Riem Arcaden car park at Willy-Brandt-Platz is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with more than 2,300 spaces. It is suitable when a two-hour street limit is too short or when you need a covered parking space close to the shopping centre.
- First started hour: €1.90
- Second started hour: €2.10
- Each further started hour: €2.60
- Maximum charge: €25 for a stay of up to 24 hours
Check the signs at the entrance before leaving your vehicle, particularly if you expect to stay overnight or return after the centre's trading hours.
P+R parking in Riem for public-transport users
The P+R facility in Riem is intended for passengers continuing their journey by public transport. The day rate is €1.50 for up to 24 hours, and the site is open around the clock. Keep your valid public-transport ticket available in case it is requested when you leave.
This option is designed for changing from a car to public transport, rather than for leaving a car while visiting nearby destinations by foot. Check the signs at the facility before using the P+R tariff.
Longer stays at Messestadt Ost
Messestadt Ost offers a practical alternative for longer parking, but the price depends on how you use the facility. Visitors going to the Messe or Riem Arcaden without continuing by public transport pay the standard tariff of €21 for up to 24 hours, reduced to €16 during public fairs. Each additional day costs €16.
Passengers who continue by public transport can use the P+R tariff of €1.50 for the first 24 hours and €4 for each additional day. A journey only between Messestadt Ost and Messestadt West does not qualify for this reduced tariff.
Parking in Riem during trade fairs and events
Parking demand increases around the Messe during events. The Messe West car park is mainly used during trade fairs and generally opens around two hours before an event begins, closing around two hours after it ends. Allow extra time for queues and traffic on event days, and use a public car park rather than relying on an unmarked roadside space.
Parking discs and fines in Messestadt Riem
On a marked two-hour space, failing to display a parking disc or setting it incorrectly can result in a fine. The amount rises with the length of the overstay: €20 for up to 30 minutes, €25 for up to one hour, €30 for up to two hours, €35 for up to three hours and €40 for longer overstays.
A handwritten arrival time does not replace a parking disc. Read the signs at the entrance to the zone and within each marked bay, as parking is not permitted simply because a kerb appears to be unused.
