Amsterdam-Oost is an eastern section of Amsterdam in the Netherlands established in 2010 through a merger of Oost-Watergraafsmeer and Zeeburg neighborhoods. It is administered as a bestuurscommissiegebied, or administrative commission area; one notable landmark in this neighborhood is Karel Appel's art piece "The Flowers", situated at Oosterspoorplein near Station Amsterdam Muiderpoort station.

Amsterdam-Oost is bounded by Singelgracht to the west, Amstel to the east, and Amsterdam Ring Road in the south. Construction began on this eastern city expansion during the late 19th century with Oosterparkbuurt and Dapperbuurt being created first before Oud-Oost was further expanded with Weesperzijde neighborhood later. Finally, recently Oostpoort neighborhood was established on site of former Oostergasfabriek.

Between 1920 and 1940, two new city expansions on parts of the former municipality of Nieuwer Amstel were established: Transvaalbuurt and Indische Buurt. Since 1987/1990 these neighborhoods form Amsterdam-Oost district; Prior to April 30, 2010 Indische buurt had been part of Zeeburg district until April 30 2010. To improve accessibility to these new neighborhoods between 1932 and 1942 the Spoorwegwerken Oost were executed to raise low-lying railway tracks on dikes while replacing level crossings with viaducts.
