Street parking rules in Vienna South

Parking in Vienna South follows Vienna's citywide short-stay parking rules. On working days from 09:00 to 22:00, parking in the short-stay zone is charged and is normally limited to two hours. This applies across Vienna, including the southern districts.

Shopping streets can have different conditions, including a 1.5-hour maximum and paid parking on Saturdays from 08:00 to 12:00. Always follow the signs at the space, particularly where resident-only restrictions apply.

From 1 January 2026, the standard short-stay parking rates are:

• 15 minutes: free with the correct 15-minute parking voucher
• 30 minutes: €1.70

Display a paper voucher clearly behind the windscreen, or use Vienna's mobile parking service. The free 15-minute voucher cannot be combined with another voucher. Older vouchers under the previous tariff were accepted during the transitional period until 30 June 2026.

Long-stay parking near Vienna South: use P+R

Street parking is not suitable for a full day because of the two-hour limit. Park-and-Ride facilities in southern Vienna provide a better option for longer stays, with access to public transport for the onward journey.

Useful southern locations include Siebenhirten on the U6, Liesing on the S1 and Perfektastraße on the U6. A P+R day ticket costs €4.60. Check the signs at the entrance for the current payment conditions, then continue by underground, train or bus instead of driving into busier areas.

Garages and overnight parking in Vienna South

A public garage is generally more suitable than a short-stay space when you need to park beyond two hours or leave a vehicle overnight. Garage prices vary by location, so check the hourly rate, daily maximum, opening hours and height restriction before entering.
