The on-site car park at Elbphilharmonie Hamburg

Parking at Elbphilharmonie Hamburg centres on the underground car park at Platz der Deutschen Einheit. It has around 435 spaces and is open for entry and exit around the clock, although capacity is limited during concerts and other busy periods.

Drive-up parking starts at €5.50 per started hour, with the rate varying by time and occupancy. The standard tariff has a daily maximum of €50. Payment in the car park is cashless.

Use the entrance marked Elbphilharmonie. Do not follow signs for the separate Elbphilharmonie Hotel entrance.

Pre-booked parking for concerts and longer stays

Online pre-booking gives a fixed €22 tariff for four hours or €35 for 24 hours. The booking must be made at least two hours before entry, making it useful for an evening concert, a Plaza visit or a longer stay in HafenCity.

Allow extra time before a performance: a full car park can leave you looking for another space at the busiest part of the evening. There are currently no bookable Mobypark spaces within 3 km, but drivers can check Mobypark later for future availability.

Street parking and restrictions around the Elbphilharmonie

Kerbside parking in the immediate HafenCity area is limited. Any space you find may have paid-parking hours, a maximum stay or restrictions for residents, loading, taxis or disabled drivers. Read the sign at the exact bay before leaving the car.

Do not assume that evening, Sunday or event-day parking is free. Permit-only bays and loading areas remain unsuitable for concert visitors, even when they appear empty.

If the Elbphilharmonie car park is full

Use a signed public car park elsewhere in HafenCity or towards Speicherstadt rather than circling the venue. Check height limits, opening arrangements and the payment method before setting off, then allow time for the walk to the building.

For a time-critical concert, a pre-booked space is more predictable than relying on a nearby street bay or drive-up availability.

Driving to the Elbphilharmonie: current access route

Road access from Baumwall towards HafenCity is currently affected by quay-wall works. The western Niederbaumbrücke is closed to cars, buses and bicycles until February 2028. Approach from the city side via Brooksbrücke, around 500 metres further along; the exit route from the Elbphilharmonie is not affected.

Enter Platz der Deutschen Einheit, 20457 Hamburg in your navigation system and check the route shortly before travelling, particularly for an evening event.

Getting from the car park into the building

The Plaza and concert halls are not accessed directly from the car park. Leave via the ground floor and use the main entrance, where ticket and access checks take place. The Plaza and halls are reached from inside the building using the escalator or lifts.
