Street parking in Höngg: blue-zone rules

Parking in Höngg is largely in marked blue zones, where you can park free for a limited time with a correctly set, visible parking disc. From Monday to Saturday, the usual limit is one hour between 08:00 and 11:30 and between 13:30 and 18:00. Around midday, parking can generally continue until 14:30; follow any signs at the space.

For arrivals between 18:00 and 08:00, set the disc to 08:00; the usual limit then runs until 09:00. On Sundays and public holidays, there is generally no time limit unless a sign says otherwise. Do not reset the disc or move the car within the same zone to extend your stay.

Blue-zone day permits and longer stays in Höngg

A Zurich blue-zone day permit costs CHF 15 and allows parking in blue zones for the calendar day shown on the permit. It can be useful when the disc limit is too short, but it does not reserve a specific space, so check the signs and allow time to find a vacant bay. A block of 10 day permits costs CHF 150.

For a longer visit, the ETH Hönggerberg car parks have different rates by facility: the HIG and HPG car parks charge CHF 0.60 per hour, while the Main Building car park charges CHF 3 per hour from 07:00 to 17:00 and CHF 1.50 per hour from 17:00 to 06:00. Parking restrictions and fines in Höngg

Check the signs and road markings before leaving your car: restrictions can differ by street, and a blue-zone disc does not authorise parking in a marked no-parking area or beyond the permitted time. Overstaying in a blue zone by up to two hours carries a CHF 40 fine; longer overstays can incur higher fines.
