Parking Münchner Kammerspiele, Munich

Parking at Münchner Kammerspiele is centred on the Schauspielhaus at Maximilianstraße 26–28 and several nearby venues. Compare public street parking and garages, or pre-book an available parking option through Mobypark for your visit. Mobypark makes unused private spaces bookable, including hotel parking, office building spaces, private driveways and unused garages, helping you avoid searching for a space on arrival.

Mobypark parking options for Münchner Kammerspiele

Public parking directly around the theatre is limited, particularly before evening performances. A Mobypark booking in the wider central area can provide a planned parking space when a suitable option is available for your dates. Check the access instructions and route to your specific Kammerspiele venue before confirming.

Street parking around Münchner Kammerspiele

Street parking around Maximilianstraße is scarce and spaces are often occupied. Where marked bays are available, parking in Munich is generally paid and subject to a time limit, so check the sign or parking machine before leaving the car.

Part of Maximilianstraße has been a pedestrian zone since 1 May 2023. Do not drive through or stop in restricted sections, even if you are dropping off theatre-goers. For a performance with a fixed start time, a pre-booked Mobypark space can be a practical alternative to circling for a time-limited street bay.

Operngarage parking near the Schauspielhaus

The Operngarage at Max-Joseph-Platz 4 is a central public garage serving the surrounding theatre and old-town area. It has 500 spaces, a maximum entry height of 2.10 metres and opening hours from 06:00 to 01:00; exit is available around the clock.

Use these figures as a budgeting guide because garage tariffs can change. If you need a longer evening or overnight stay and want to avoid relying on garage capacity, a bookable Mobypark space in the wider area is another option when available.

A temporary Operngarage closure is scheduled for 2–28 August 2026, with reopening expected on 29 August. Choose another parking option if your visit falls within that period.

Parking for evening performances at Münchner Kammerspiele

Allow extra time before a show: street bays are limited, and a full garage can mean searching for another place before the curtain rises. Confirm whether your ticket is for the Schauspielhaus, Therese-Giehse-Halle, Werkraum or Habibi Kiosk, as the venues use different streets.

For a fixed arrival time, pre-booking a suitable Mobypark space can reduce uncertainty and leave less time spent driving around the central area looking for a space.

Free parking near Münchner Kammerspiele

Do not rely on unrestricted free parking near the theatre. Available on-street spaces are limited, and marked bays may require payment or have a maximum stay. Pedestrian-zone restrictions and local signs take priority over general assumptions about evening or Sunday parking.

Accessible parking and venue addresses

The main Schauspielhaus is at Maximilianstraße 26–28. The other Kammerspiele venues include Therese-Giehse-Halle at Falckenbergstraße 1, Werkraum at Hildegardstraße 1 and Habibi Kiosk at Maximilianstraße 28.

Accessible public parking bays are identified at Maximilianstraße 30 and near Falckenbergstraße 1. Check the venue address before setting off, and use only bays marked for eligible vehicles.

Parking rules and penalties in central Munich

Parking without a valid ticket or exceeding the permitted time can result in a €20 warning charge initially. An overstay of up to 30 minutes is also subject to €20. Longer overstays can increase the charge to as much as €40, while obstruction, danger or towing can add substantially more.

Keep the parking ticket or digital parking record valid for the full stay, and do not stop in pedestrian areas, access routes, loading areas or accessible bays without authorisation.
