Parking in Simmering: street zones and maximum stay

Parking in Simmering follows Vienna’s short-stay parking zone rules. On most streets, parking is charged from Monday to Friday on working days between 09:00 and 22:00, with a maximum stay of two hours. You need a valid parking ticket for the whole paid period.

Different rules apply on designated business streets. Parts of Simmeringer Hauptstraße, between Geystraße and Kaiser-Ebersdorfer-Straße, and Enkplatz are generally paid from Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 18:00 and on Saturdays from 08:00 to 12:00. The usual maximum stay there is 90 minutes, subject to the roadside signs.

The two-hour ticket is the longest standard stay in the general short-stay zone. On a business street, use the shorter maximum stay shown on the signs rather than relying on the general Vienna limit.

Free parking and resident permits in Simmering

In the general short-stay zone, no parking charge applies from 22:00 to 09:00 on working days, after 12:00 on Saturdays, and throughout Sundays and public holidays. A free 15-minute stay still requires the appropriate ticket. Other restrictions, loading rules and no-parking signs can apply outside the paid hours.

Residents with a valid 11th-district parking permit can normally park in Simmering without an additional time limit or parking charge. Business streets are an exception: a parking disc or other required time control may still be necessary. Motorcycles and mopeds are exempt from the short-stay zone charges.

24-hour parking near Simmering U3

The Simmering U3 car park on Simmeringer Hauptstraße 171 is open around the clock and has about 210 spaces. The tariff is €3.20 per hour, with a daily maximum of €12. It is a practical option when a two-hour kerbside stay is too short or when you need access to the car outside normal shopping hours.

The City Center Simmering car park at Rinnböckstraße 56–58 is also open 24 hours. It has 62 spaces, costs €2.40 per hour and has a €24 maximum for 24 hours. The maximum entry height is 2.10 metres. Mobypark has no bookable spaces in Simmering at present, but you can check again before a future trip in case availability changes.

Choosing between street parking and a car park

For a stop of up to 15 minutes, a correctly completed free ticket may be enough. For a visit of up to two hours, compare the street-ticket cost with the nearby car-park tariff and allow extra time to find a compliant space. A car park is the more suitable choice for longer visits because the general kerbside limit does not cover a full day.

For an overnight stay, check the access conditions as well as the price. The Simmering U3 and City Center Simmering car parks allow entry and exit 24 hours a day, while street parking remains subject to signs, resident rules and any local restrictions.

Parking fines and checks in Simmering

From 1 January 2026, parking without a valid ticket or beyond the permitted stay can result in a €50 parking penalty. An enforcement notice should normally be paid within 14 days. Blocking public transport can lead to a higher penalty of €467, so never stop in a tram or bus route, at a stop, or where signs prohibit waiting.
