Parking Ernst-Happel-Stadion, Vienna

Parking at Ernst-Happel-Stadion is most constrained on match and concert days. The nearby stadium car parks, Stadion Center car park and surrounding Vienna short-stay zone provide the main options, but spaces fill quickly when large crowds arrive. Check the time limit and tariff before driving in, especially if you plan to leave your car for a full event.

Parking at Ernst-Happel-Stadion for concerts and matches

The stadium area has roughly 3,000 parking spaces, far fewer than the venue’s event capacity. On busy match and concert days, these spaces can fill before the event starts, and there is no advance guarantee that a space will be available. Entry and exit can also take longer because of heavy traffic.

Allow extra time and follow event-day traffic signs. The U2 station Stadion is close to the venue, so continuing by public transport after parking farther away can be more reliable than searching for a space beside the stadium.

Direct stadium parking rates

Where a space is available directly at the stadium, the first 2.5 hours are free. Each additional started hour costs €2.50. This option suits a short visit, but the limited capacity and event-day demand make it unsuitable to rely on for a major concert or football match.

Parking spaces with electric charging at P2 have a different tariff: the first 2.5 hours are free, followed by €3.50 per started hour. Electricity costs €0.70 per kWh, and a €0.10-per-minute standing charge starts 30 minutes after charging ends if the cable remains connected and the car has not left.

Stadion Center car park near Ernst-Happel-Stadion

The Stadion Center car park at Marathonweg 7 offers three hours free during normal operation. Each further started hour costs €3.00. It is open daily from 06:00 to 24:00, so it is not suitable for collecting a car after the garage has closed.

Re-entry within one hour of leaving triggers the hourly charge immediately. On Ernst-Happel-Stadion event days, a special €5 event ticket may be available at the entrance. It is sold only on the event day, payable in cash, and allows departure up to three hours after the event ends. Reservations are not available, so arriving early is advisable.

Street parking near Ernst-Happel-Stadion

The general Vienna short-stay zone also applies in Leopoldstadt, where the stadium is located. On working weekdays it operates from 09:00 to 22:00, with a maximum stay of two hours. That limit makes ordinary street parking a poor choice for a full concert or match.

Use a valid parking ticket or mobile parking service and check the signs on the specific street. A free 15-minute period does not provide a way to leave the car throughout an event.

Long-stay car parks for Ernst-Happel-Stadion events

For a full-day visit, choose a car park with a long maximum stay rather than the two-hour street zone. The VIECON Messe Wien car parks A and D offer a €15 event tariff covering up to 15 hours for selected Ernst-Happel-Stadion concerts and football matches.

Access rules and parking penalties in Vienna

Do not park on grass, pavements or areas marked as unsuitable for vehicles. These areas are not overflow parking, even when nearby car parks are full. Access routes can also change for events; Stadionallee may be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, so follow the temporary signs and permitted approach routes.

Minor parking offences can result in an on-the-spot fine of up to €90. Leaving the car beyond the permitted time, using an invalid ticket or parking outside a marked space can therefore cost considerably more than the standard parking tariff.
