Summer it is and so is the vacation time! And if Paris is one of the destinations this year on your vacation list, do check out these local foods that you must try on your visit. Indulge your taste buds and eat like a Parisian!

Croissant

As much as you wouldn’t want to leave Paris without visiting the phenomenal Eiffel Tower, you are also not suggested to leave the city without trying one of these slightly crescent-shaped, flaky, mouthwatering things . French croissant is well-known for its light, buttery, and crispy texture. Step into any Boulangerie (bakery) while you take a stroll in the streets of Paris and experience the wonderful warm croissants. Ideally, a croissant is eaten in the morning and makes an excellent option for a breakfast meal. However, it also works well as a mid-meal or a quick evening snack. Team it up with your favourite coffee and you are good to go!

Also, try not to miss the pain au chocolat (which can be taken as a sweeter version of croissant that is filled with little pieces of chocolates).

AVERAGE PRICE : 95 Cents to 2.50 Euros

Croissants by Eric Kayser are probably one of the most popular ones in Paris. Check out the one near Tour Eiffel at Beaugrenelle, Centre Co. Beaugrenelle, 75015 or the popular store at Boulangerie 14 Rue Monge, 75005.

Crepes

These super-thin pancakes made of buckwheat flour found their origin in the north-western region, Brittany, France. However, they are equally popular in Paris. You will find huge number of take-away crepe shops and stalls in the streets of Paris which cook fresh crepes to your order. The best part of having crepes is that every time you can lookout for a different taste by simply choosing a different filling. Beurre-sucre (butter and sugar) is probably the most popular filling. Whether you choose sweet or savory, you will love it anyway!
