Parking in Freimann: choose the right area

Parking in Freimann depends on whether you need a short street stay, U-Bahn access, an overnight space or an Allianz Arena event-day option. Some streets are in Munich parking-permit areas, while P+R car parks at Fröttmaning and Kieferngarten provide clearer day-parking choices.

Street parking rates and permit areas in Freimann

Visitors can park in signed parking-permit areas, but must follow the tariff, payment period and maximum stay shown on the street sign or parking meter. The 2025 visitor tariff is €2 per hour, while a €2.60 hourly tariff was planned for 2026. The effective rate and paid hours are not necessarily identical on every street, so the local sign takes priority.

Residents who meet the conditions can apply for a resident parking permit. A permit does not allow parking anywhere in Freimann; it applies only within the relevant permit area and subject to the displayed restrictions.

Parking rules, tickets and penalties in Freimann

Check the sign before leaving the vehicle, particularly where a parking disc, resident permit or maximum stay is required. Parking without a valid ticket or disc can result in a graduated warning charge:

Fröttmaning permits parking beyond 24 hours. The first day costs €1.50 with the P+R tariff or €10 on the standard tariff, followed by €4 for each additional day. Drivers using the P+R tariff must actually continue their journey by public transport. Mobypark currently has no bookable parking spaces in Freimann, although checking later may show future availability.

P+R Kieferngarten and U-Bahn parking

P+R Kieferngarten offers around 235 spaces for drivers changing to public transport. The P+R tariff is €1.50 per day or €17 per month, and a valid MVV public transport ticket is required. With an entry height of 1.90 metres, it may suit vehicles that cannot use the taller Fröttmaning facility.

Parking in Freimann on Allianz Arena event days

Event days increase demand around Fröttmaning and can slow traffic on the approach roads. The P+R car park remains an option, but it does not accept reservations and its standard €10 daily tariff applies to drivers who do not use public transport.

The Allianz Arena P1–P3 car parks charge €12 with advance booking or €15 on the day. They open at 08:00 on event days and close four hours after the event ends. Allow extra time for entry and exit, and check the parking conditions before travelling.

Free and private parking restrictions in Freimann

Free parking is not a general rule for empty-looking private, club or retail spaces. At the ESV München-Freimann site, unregistered vehicles are limited to 30 minutes and overstaying can result in a €42 charge. Registered members may park free under the site's conditions, while other visitors must follow the local authorisation rules. Always read the sign at the entrance before leaving the vehicle.
